I love you just the way you are. Don't change, just grow.

BRAND: Passionate.

i want my BRAND to be “passionate”

i want to be “passionate” about EVERYTHING i do.

that nothing would simply be an obligation or a half-hearted effort.

in relationships, in school, in faith.

“No, life cannot be understood flat on a page. It has to be lived; a person has to get out of his head, has to fall in love, has to memorize poems, has to jump off bridges into rivers, has to stand in an empty desert and whisper sonnets under his breath… We get one story, you and I, and one story alone. - Donald Miller -” —

I’m passionate about people and their story.

Behind every angry yell, there’s a story. Behind every rude comment, there’s a story. Behind every cardboard sign on the side of the road, there’s a story. Behind every tear that’s shed, there’s a story.

Recently coming back from the Dominican Republic for Project Serve, I remember thinking of all the bad behaved children we attempted to teach English to in the public school. Instead of passing judgement and instantly reverting to frustration, I thought about each of these children and their story. Instead of looking at the bad behavior being displayed, I looked beyond that to the person behind it.

I had broken conversations with children who talked about life at home: they carried scars of machetes to their skin, and unrest with broken marriages. They soon became not kids who were misbehaved, but rather kids who needed attention and didn’t know how to get it.

Everyone has a story. Everyone is a part of God’s story. Be privileged when you get to be apart of someone else’s story. Be apart of someone’s good story.

People. Stories. Passion.
